Update 5/6/20

Dear Readers,
For those of you who have followed me, I thank you.  I want to let you know that I am working on a variety of different projects.  Two are 'prequels' to the Jonah Halberd stories.  In one I explain how the Commonwealth came to be.  In the other, I review Halberd's earlier career.  There is another book I am working on that is unlike the Halberd stories.  It's early days but seems promising.

For those who have not only read my books but taken the time to leave a positive review, I want you to know how much I appreciate it.  Similarly, I was disappointed by a recent review where the reader took things out of context and seemed to lack any sense of humor.  Oh well, can't please everyone.

During this very strange time of Covid-19, lockdowns, social distancing and isolation, I wish you all well.  I hope better times are soon to come for all of us.  In the meantime, please stay safe and well.

Thanks Dale Evanoff

Dale--I don't know who you are but you made my 60th birthday special by posting such a kind review.  Thank you!

Thanks to Robin B from the UK

The first review of Surrender Demand is in, from Robin B. of the UK.  He calls it, "A bloody good book."

Many thanks, Robin.  Thank you for reading and thank you for your kind comment (and your insight about my antagonists).

Book 4: Surrender Demand

Dear Readers,

Book 4, Surrender Demand, has just been submitted to amazon for publication.  This will likely be the last Halberd book for awhile.  I'd like to thank my dozens of readers (I wish it were hundreds, any dozens is better than nothing).  If you are moved to do so, please leave a positive review on amazon--perhaps enough good reviews and more people will take a look at the books.  Writing these books has been an enjoyable experience and I hope to continue with a new project soon.

Omnibus edition and Book 4

June 6, 2019

Dear Readers,

All three of the existing Jonah Halberd books have just been slightly revised and resubmitted to amazon.  The kindle versions are already up and the print versions will be available shortly.  I have also put all three of the first books into an 'omnibus' edition that will be available on both kindle and as a paperback.

With that done I am turning my attention to Book 4.  I hope to make substantial progress quickly but do not have a publication date in mind yet.  If the muse is with me, it will be sooner rather than later.

I appreciate the support of all my readers.  If it's not too much to ask, would you consider leaving a positive review on amazon for whichever book of mine you have read?  The reviews so far have been quite positive and I am grateful.  More reviews though, will help more people believe the books are worth reading.  More readership is always a good thing and would provide me extra incentive to keep plugging away.

Thanks!
Jake

February Update

Dear Readers,
The third book, True Allegiance, went live on Kindle and as a paperback shortly after Christmas.  After an initial burst of sales, things seemed to have calmed down.  The reviews (for all three books) posted on amazon are strongly positive and I thank those who posted.

If you enjoyed the book, please tell a friend or post a review on amazon.  I will appreciate it.  It pleases me that people have read and enjoyed my writing.  It's all I need to keep going.  More readership would be welcome.

Book 4 is already well underway though while school is in session it resides on the back-burner until the next vacation.  In a couple of weeks I'll be taking a student group to Italy for a week to indulge my love of Roman history.

More news later!

Dear Readers, Merry Christmas

Dear Readers,
I wish you a Merry Christmas or whatever holiday you celebrate.  Book 3 of the Halberd Series was just submitted to amazon, so should be available quite soon.  The cover art is a little different from the first two.

I hope you like it.  I am already working on Book 4.  As long as people keep reading, I'll keep writing.  I guess that's either a promise or a threat, depending on whether you've enjoyed the books so far.

I wish everyone a Happy New Year.
